PM Masters: Chloé Fleury

I discovered Chloé Fleury, a Paper Artist / Image Maker, on an online magazine and fell absolutely in love with her work. Her work is creative, original and adorable that companies like Anthropologie are making sure they get her to collaborate with them.

Here is the interview with this talented designer located in San Francisco whose originally from France:

How did you get started in your career?
I graduated from a Visual Arts School in France called ECV. Since I've worked for different design agencies in Montréal and San Francisco. Even if i always loved making things and it is only when I moved to San Francisco that I started working with papers. I was so inspired by the colorful houses and the sun!

What are your sources of inspiration?
Fashion, food, people, music, everyday life...

Where do you work and how do you get organized around it?
I have a little studio in my apartment. It is really nice to work from home. It just needs organization! I also like to often meet other creative people outside…it is very important to still have a social life and get out of my studio sometimes, otherwise I would become crazy!

Which is your favorite client or project?
Every client is a new fun and exciting project so I couldn't really choose one. I can say I have been very lucky to work with Warner Bros Records on a music video, it was also amazing to work with Meg Mateo Ilasco on the trailer of her Craft Inc. book for Chronicle as well as for her magazine Anthology! Paulette Magazine, The Bold Italic, La Boutique…Every project has been a different and interesting challenge! That's what I love about my job, it is very diversified! I can work on illustration for magazine, stop motion animation for music bands, window displays!

What other profession you would like to have besides yours?
I wish I could be a fashion designer!

What are you listening to these days?
These days here are a few bands my playlist include: Little Dragon, Cocorosie, Lykke Li, Bon Iver, Phantogram, The Shins, Lana Del Rey, Phoenix, Feist, Givers, MIA, Pharrell, Best Coast, Megafortress…

When you travel what are the essential items you take with you?
I always travel with my home but here are the essentials: camera, computer, notepad, glasses, denim shirt, brush!...

Where is your favorite vacation spot?
I looove NY, I plan on moving there in the next year or two! but I don't have like one favorite spot, I like to discover a different city each time I travel. My next "dream vacation" would be Japan!

What is the best business advice you can give someone?
Be organized! and have good blogs talk about your work ;)

What does the future hold for your business? Any plans?
Keep working on fun projects, and collaborations with other artists I hope! I am also working on an exhibition that will take place at La Boutique, L'Art et La Mode in San Francisco, the opening is April 27th.

Thanks Chloé!
