Not Just Beautiful Outside

Yesterday I showed you a few pictures of the National Gallery of Art from the outside. Today, I'd like to show you from the inside.

Mobile that hangs from the ceiling at the main lobby

The building is perfectly designed in symmetry, form and function so every single corner and angle is perfectly aligned. My favorite sculptor of all time is Alexander Calder and they have one of their biggest mobiles that he made.

First floor area with a large room scene painting by Roy Lichtenstein - My other favorite

This is tri-dimensional sculpture that is built in layers to create different visual effects

Sculpture by Alexander Calder in a room especially dedicated to his work
 Light sculpture by Dan Flavin

Delicious painting by Wayne Thiebaud

With these sweet image I wish you a great day!

  1. Wonderful! The Calder room is where my boys and I end up every time we go to the National Gallery. I could sit in there and watch those lovely sculptures sway in the breeze all day long!

By the way I wish to tell you, that your picture at the top on the left sidebar, literally, I shit you not, makes my mouth water everytime I see it. What do you think it is the powdered sugar?
