Perfection in form

Sorry I went MIA yesterday, I'd like to say it was a consequence of the Easter weekend but unfortunately it wasn't. Yesterday I had to deal with the kind of people who like to do the minimum effort in everything in life and because I do not accept that the day became extremely difficult and frustrating. This kind of attitude is not what our society needs right now in order to get us out of this terrible recession... without bothering much with the boring details and a speech all I have to say is: Never accept less than perfect, mediocrity should never be an option.

With that note on perfection I want to leave you with the images from the exterior of the National Gallery of Art. These images are from the esplanade that separates the West from the East building. The later was built by I.M. Pei who is the same architect that built the famous pyramid at the Louvre and all its spaces which actually came after the work at the National Gallery

Can you see me?

Have a great day and rest of the week!

  1. Without saying much, I completely understand and empathize with you. I'm afraid it happens more often on this side of the pond than I'm used to.

I hope it all worked out in the end.

  2. I love this: "Mediocrity should never be an option." SO true. I face a lot of this with some of my associates and it is extremely frustrating in a team environment. Hope your day got lots better!!

By the way, the photographs you took are amazing! Just what I needed to brighten my day today! The architecture and combination of structure and glass are incredible, I could have gotten lost in that museum for hours (probably days!). The Louvre is gorgeous, I've spent a lot of time there. This museum is stunning. Do you have a favorite collection/artist gallery in this museum? :)

    XOXO

  4. Gah, I know. Sometimes I wish my parents had raised me to be half ass like EVERYONE else's parents apparently did, but then that would be awful.

  5. It is a sad thing to say but so many people try to do the bare minimum. Good for you for sticking to your principles!

  10. I agree. I have a hard time when it comes to design especially to accept mediocrity.
