Cooking with the Stars

As I told you yesterday the event was a complete success and cooking with these chefs was a great experience not just because they are at the top of their game but also because they are fully committed to give back to the community. The images are not very artistic but you can see how much fun it was for sure!

Salon ready for the guests to come and enjoy the show

The event was a dinner to benefit various causes in Miami as well as those that each participating chef endorses. Each chef was to demonstrate a dish that later would be served to each of the guests. The dinner started with a salad made with all local fresh and organic products.

It was followed by an Eggplant Timbale by Chef Allen Susser, whose picture unfortunately I was not able to take. The next chef was Dewey Losasso, Executive Chef at The Forge, who prepared a delicious Florida snapper wrapped in Fata paper.

Chefs Losasso, Bernstein and Moran

Chef Michelle Bernstein presented a delicious dish of braised short ribs that were so good that people were in some sort of trance while eating them. To close the event Chef Michael Moran, the Director of the Culinary Department at the School of Hospitality Management at FIU, who prepared a scrumptious dessert of bananas glazed with pecans and chocolate that had people at the edge of their seats.

The thing that I liked the most about it was to see the camaraderie amongst the chefs because they don't see each other as competitors but as colleagues and friends.

If you live in South Florida and never visited their restaurants you should... and if you are planning to visit definitely add them to your to do list.

Have a nice one and enjoy a good meal today!

  1. Wow!

Looks like it was an eventful day for you.

I saw chef Bernstein not too long ago for a taping of a new show called Beat the Chefs and thought she had a cute personality.
