Walking in my Shoes

Prep work is going really well and we expect to have the first chefs and their sous chefs tomorrow afternoon... cross my fingers! This means that we have to be fully prepared to receive them and be the best help they can get at getting all their food ready for Friday's event.

These days my sneakers are my best friends and definitely the best way to keep me up and running {literally!!!} with everything that needs to get done... then it got me thinking that the back and forth between the cold and hot kitchens is helping me get my daily work out.

I love walking especially because it is good for my knees {they really appreciate it}. Also, if you walk at a good fast pace you can enjoy your environment and relax at the same time while you burn the calories. Since I'm in full walking mode this week I looked for these articles and wanted to share them with you:

Have a nice day... I'll be walking around!

  1. I don't walk -- if only because it's FREEZING out all the time these days! But I do love the elliptical so I'm with you on sneakers being my besties these days!

  3. Photography has that same good effect on me too, it helps me get out and about and walking more often for pictures :) And forget it, during sessions, I'm all over the place and it's a great workout!

  7. I'm not a big walker because I get too antsy (weird, I know!) but I did try out a Jillian Michaels workout dvd for the first time this week. It's pretty damn hard!! But, fun too!

  8. Good luck girl! Can't wait to read about it.
just began to run as often as I can here in London. It is so refreshing. But the sneakers don't have a long life in this weather...rain and mud! But the river is gorgeous:) Enjoy!!

  12. I'm very much about walking. People sometimes think I'm nuts because I'd rather walk 40 mins to my destination rather than take the subway, but sometimes it's more stressful to drive or be stuck in public transport. Hope your event on Friday goes well!

  14. Oh thank you for this! My schedule has been too eratic to make it to any yoga classes and walking is how I always stayed slim--must get back to it and I'm going to check out your links for a little additional inspiration. Good luck with your event--it sounds like it's been a lot of work but definitely worth it!

  23. How do you like those shoes? I've heard they are good for runners too. A nice walk sounds like a perfect way to get back into the swing after being sick.
