On Walking

I have to admit I've been a bit {I mean a lot!} on the lazy side of working out for one reason or the other and I can honestly say I don't feel good about it. The other day I found an article about someone who is a runner and had an injury but she wanted to keep in shape so she started walking.

After reading that article I realized that my stress level could decrease substantially if I got out of my chair and outside and start enjoying {again!} of the benefits of working out. So, I decided to look for more articles that would help me really get a plan and found THIS ONE where I get this 30 day plan that I'm planning to start today.

This video is amazing because it talks about the great benefits of physical activity {any physical activity!}, so take 10 minutes to watch because it will definitely change your mind about working out... Finally, here are a couple more article about this topic:

Have a great day!

  1. Oh my! It's been ages since I exercised too. I was on Tracy Anderson's program and everything exploded last year and I haven't done anything, not even yoga since then. When I though of going back to my routine this year it was already too late, it's winter here and they are cruel. I can't wait for Summer so that I can get back into feeling healthy.

  2. I love walking but having a dog sure helps those grey and rainy days - otherwise I´d be much more lazy! :-D

  6. I used to run back in high school and some in college but I gave it up since I really prefer walking. I especially like going somewhere new to walk every now and then, it makes it more fun!

  7. Walking is so good for you. It's better on your joints than running. Since I hurt myself running, I have been walking on treadmills with the incline jacked up, and it really works your whole lower body.

  10. I love walking! I try to take a walk everyday. Sometimes it's just a half an hour while other times it's a five mile walk around my neighborhood. I lost weight while in Europe and walking has helped me keep it off.

  11. I need to watch this video when I am on break! I am trying to find other forms of cardio since I am struggling with injuries from running. I really should try walking, biking and the elliptical are getting a bit boring! Hope you are having a great start to your week!

  13. I used to run 3 miles about 3-4 times a week in DC in addition to doing 30-minute to an hour DVD workouts at home. After I moved, I've become lazy and have yet to get out of my winter funk. Hoping to get the stamina and will to go back to it as I really think working out saved my life! Thanks for sharing x

  14. I had a pretty serious foot injury that still leaves me in pain if I try to run, but I've found walking helps clear my mind and keep me focused!

  24. this definitely makes me feel bad about not working out in a few months. work keeps me so busy...it's annoying. but now i definitely want to be more active. Even walking is better than sitting around!

  27. Living in a city made walking for exercise really enjoyable. Since moving back to the Garden State, I'm thinking hiking in the South Mountain Reservaion come springtime.

  28. I've just started jogging and have to say I do feel better about my self, my body, and it gives me time for myself. The only downside is experiencing some small injuries but going to keep keeping on...

  29. I love walking and NYC and London (our former homes) are suh great cities for walking. It is too hot to do it here now so it is a pity!

  33. I have seen videos of his illustrated "articles" before, but this was really awesome! I walk a lot more in spring and summer, but winter is so cold here, I tend to stay home more... which translates in less exercise.

I am working on changing that already, and this helps motivate me :-)
