Smile Like You Mean It

There is nothing better that having a good laugh, the kind that makes you feel good and leaves a feeling of total happiness. Well, that feeling is a by product of the benefits a good laugh {even a small one} has on your brain and your entire body.


I'm sure you've heard before that laughter is the best medicine and it really is. Laughter is one of the best muscle relaxers there is and it works immediately in releasing tension and stress and can last for up to 45 minutes to an hour.


Laughing is also like having a big dose of vitamin C to give your entire immune system a boost. As your stress hormones decrease when you laugh your immune cells increase helping your body fight antibodies that cause many diseases {especially during flu season}.


When you laugh your brain releases millions of endorphins {hence the feeling of total happiness!} that give a big jolt to your mood, adding a zest of life, and even helping in relieving pain... it just makes you feel better all over your body.


Most importantly, laughter take good care of your heart. It increases the blood flow throughout your body, prevents heart disease, and strengthens relationships {taking care of the emotional heart too!}

    My husband and I crack each other up all day long. I'm not sure anyone else thinks we are that funny though. Yes, the people I seem to like best are the ones who make me laugh.

  7. Laughing is a good workout, too! I found an extremely funny blog not too long ago (What Should We Call Me), which left me tearing from laughter! It felt so good and felt so relaxed afterwards!

  23. As I was driving into work today, something on the radio made me burst out laughing and it felt SO good. I think it was my first laugh of the day, and I remember thinking about how I was going to make a point to laugh throughout the day today... Whether I look at funny websites, spend time with fun people, etc... I just want to laugh today and make the weekend start right. :) Thanks for the great post.
