I watched my first live Saturday Night Live show when I was like 14 and the host that night was Fred Savage from the Wonder Years, a show I used to love. I remember my brother laughing at every joke that of course I couldn't fully understand but I did recognize there was genius behind it.
Since then, I became a big fan of the show, found the humor behind all the jokes and understand the importance this show has in pop culture... You know you've made it when you are parodied on SNL!
I have always wanted to be part of the audience and see how they tape each show. I want to see how is it that they do it and not burst out laughing when things just get too funny to handle... Well, sometimes they do laugh.
Most of all, I would love to host the show... yeas, I'd love to! I heard the hosts have a blast when they do it, which is not only the night of the show but they spend the whole week working on it. I'd love to write my monologue, make fun of current topics, dress up in silly costumes and work with such talented people.
So, if you could be on a comedy TV show, any show... which one would it be? Who's role would you play?
Have a fun week!!!
I'm clearly living on a different planet as I've never watched it - I've heard of it though, does that count? I think I probably would have loved to be Karen (if I remember right) in Will&Grace - she was great! Have a lovely week ahead xo
ReplyDeleteOh I love SNL too and that's a pretty interesting post.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd love to be Elaine on Seinfeld.
I used to watch this a lot when I lived in America...it's funny. Haven't seen it in ages though. I have no idea who I would be...maybe Lucy from I Love Lucy, she was a comedy genius!! x
ReplyDeleteLove SNL! They always keep it fresh and up to date.
ReplyDeleteSNL is clearly an amazing show filled super talented people, although I haven't watched a full episode since 2003 (or sometime around then).
ReplyDeleteAnn is right on! Elaine from Seinfeld is a good one! Or any character on Friends. Also, I love Zooey D. in New Girl. Or Kate from Ben & Kate (severely underrated, now-cancelled show). There's a ton I'm not thinking of, but...yeah, those are mine for now, lol.
Haha. Awesome post. Hmmm...tough call. I love Modern Family, but then I think I'd go back to either Seinfeld or Fraiser. I'd be Elaine or Roz. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched it in years. I remember when you absolutely HAD to see it. There were some really great shows. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeletei love the mindy project. i honestly always laugh outloud during it. i also love modern family. though my life is more life modern family, i still find mindy soooo relateable and fun!

It came on for a while over here, but haven't seen it as they stopped airing it :(. It was always a good laugh xo
ReplyDeleteI would love to be on Parks & Rec...any role would be worth it.

ReplyDeleteI have never watched an episode of SNL would you believe, they didn't screen it here, i think they started to just last year, it does sound hilarious from what I read online. Id love to be part of the Big Bang Theory, love that show
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I have no idea how they don't just sit there and crack up the whole time! I would definitely want to participate in pretty much anything that Justin Timberlake is in, dude is so stinkin' funny!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't thought about the Wonder Years in so long! I used to love that show. My favorite SNL skit is the one where Tom Hanks {I think} has to climb up to the landing of a house to call someone on the phone but he can't. It's so hard to explain but so funny to watch! I have no idea what show I'd want to be a part of, I guess it would depend on my mood.
ReplyDeleteModern Family :)!

I looove SNL... such a huge part of my childhood too. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'd like to be on Downton Abbey because the clothes are so beautiful. I know it's not a comedy but I would make it one! Love your blog. Thanks for stopping by mine!

I would definitely pick SNL. It's the best comedy show on TV -- in my humble opinion. And as far as roles go, I would have to go for Tina Fey....

Good question! If I could be on any comedy show, my top pick would be Arrested Development. I tried to win a place as a "walk on" for their new season, but, alas, it didn't work it. Sigh. My next choices would be either 30 Rock or Parks and Rec. And if I could travel back in time, I'd be on Kids in the Hall. SNL would be awesome, too!

Lately I've been devouring episodes of Girls, I really like the characters Lena Dunham has set up so that would be my choice! I'm also a huge SNL fan, I loved the skit last week with adam levine and fake jason mraz, train and john mayer.
ReplyDeletei like Kevin Hart now and I was a fan of Dave Chappelle... and I like SNL. I love comedy!
