Parisian Deligthts

While visiting my sister we were talking about how difficult it is to make this delicious cookies. She has a book a beautiful books that has amazing recipes that even include savory versions filled with smoked salmon.

I personally like the sweet delicacy made with egg whites, powdered sugar, almonds and vanilla essence {almond or any other is really good too!}. The cookie sandwich usually comes filled with a flavored buttercream or jam that gives tons of flavor to the it.

This video is from Laduree in Paris which is the place credited to have created them back in the 1930's. The video is delicious so please don't watch it sometime around 3pm when you are looking for that little sugary treat.

Have a sweet day!!!

  10. My skill level only allows me to make chocolate chip cookies - I leave pretty and elegant macarons up to the professionals :-)

  11. Now I simply must hop on a plane to Paris immediately and delight in some of these confections!! Such a darling video and I cannot think of more perfect background music than "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy! Maybe someday I'll be brave and attempt to make some of these delectable delights myself. :)

  15. I think I'll stick with the sweet ones -- smoked salmon sounds a bit strange to me. But you're right: good ones are hard to find. It's time you take another little trip to NYC, I think. Yes?
