Color Mark: Blue Leaf Hues

There is a certain elegance that comes with traditional draperies and tassels that makes me think of sitting down for high tea in a beautiful dress feeling like a lady eating delicious scones with clotted cream. I took this photo at a quaint small boutique hotel in DC during a visit to my sister last year. The image reminds me of opening your windows to let the Spring sun come in and warm up everything.

All colors in this palette match Sherwin Williams paints {from left to right}: Bosporus SW6503, Tranquil Aqua SW7611, Faraway Blue SW7133, Crewel Tan SW011, Renwick Golden Oak SW 2824.

Colors like these can be used in sun rooms where the warm sun light accentuates the golden tones and the blue shades refresh the environment.

Have a beautiful and colorful day!

  1. There is something very comforting about "old world elegance" and - as you said - the thought of a classic afternoon tea. The colours are obviously great too... ;-)

  4. I also love vintage upholstery, something very Marie Antoinette about it. The blue shades are so tranquil.

  5. I tend to go for brighter colours, but these are pretty.
