Sleeping Beauty

That is definitely not me and has never been. I have always envied those people who can sleep anywhere {even on the floor!} because for me to get a good night sleep many things have to sort of be in place. If you are like me, there are many things you can do to close your eyes for a few good hours.

There has always been a controversy on how many hours of sleep you really need but what is really important to feel rested is how many hours of continuous sleep you get per night. Try to get at least 5 or 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep that way you feel rested when you wake up.

Your bedroom has a lot to do with your good night sleep. First of all make sure it's a space you like and enjoy spending time in, it should be preferably somewhere between 70F {21C} to 75F {24C}, your mattress should offer you the needed support for your body, and wear clothes that are not too tight and feel comfortable.

Avoid working out later at night because it energizes your mind and body instead of making you tired. Additionally, stay away from caffeine, difficult to digest foods {like red meat or spicy foods}, and scary of violent movies before going to bed that way you won't have nightmares.

There are a few things you can eat and drink that will help you fall asleep and stay asleep {very important!} like a cup of chamomile tea, a bunch of almonds, a tablespoon of honey, a couple of slices of whole grain bread, and my favorite... a cup of cherries!

Have a great day!

  5. Great tips!

I love sleeping in a slightly cooler room- right now, I've got the windows open in the bedroom to let the cool night air in. Oh- and don't forget the ceiling fan!

  7. I've always slept little, between 5-6 hours. I can be envious of those who gets 8 hours, but on the other hand it does seem to work for me and I get a lot done. :-)

  12. No joke- that above woman is exactly how I sleep, arm thing and everything. My arms wake up sooo sore, but it's the most comfortable position. Whether or not my hair and make-up looks like hers is entirely debatable, but I like to think it does (haha.)

  15. Oh, I am terrible at falling asleep. Good luck for me I can take it really well, with you 4 hours of sleep and 1 cup of coffee I'll be fine. It isn't healthy at all, I know, but I survive. Not that I pull late-nighters like these all the time, but just when it happens I'm okay
But still, this post was very nice and very helpfull!

  27. I am lucky to get 5 hours straight. (My son is 6 months old and hasn't gotten the memo that he is supposed to sleep 12 hours straight for me). I am sooooooo tired.
