Pumpkin Spice

This year I won't be celebrating Thanksgiving the traditional way, because over here is not a celebration but I'll mix some of it into my weekend. The one thing I'm missing is my pumpkin spice latte, as it is a traditional thing of the north people over here have not acquired a taste for it.

Pumpkin spice was introduced into traditions when cinnamon was used to add flavor during the winter months to pumpkin, who had a bitter taste when eaten by itself by the ancient merchants of the East.

This mix of spice was fully integrated into tradition when the Pilgrims brought all the spices from Europe into the new world and it was fully features in Thanksgiving celebrations on the 19th century.

Today, we have adapted it into everything from cipcakes to beverages all the way to add flavor to savory dishes. Hope those who are celebrating Thanksgiving this week are taking it slowly and if you´'re traveling be safe!

Have a great day!

  1. Would I be able to find Pumpkin spice over here? Surely there must be some place in London? I've seen and heard so much about it this year (thanks Pinterest!!!) that I'm really curious now. Hope you'll still manage to enjoy some Thanksgiving celebrations xo
