Salutation

A while ago I read a post on the Free People blog about the Sun Salutation and how good they make you feel when you begin your day doing them. When I was in Miami a couple of weeks ago I started doing them and have to admit it's been a great way to start the day.

The salutation consists of 12 poses that flow one into the other and it is advised to do no less than two and ideally five of them, that way you get you heart started and you mind clear to start the day. For the past 2 weeks I've been trying to get them done in the morning but on a few nights have done them when I come from work and they work wonder on helping clear the mind from the day's stresses.

If you feel like giving it a try check out THIS LINK to get the instructions on how to do it and start slowly if you've never done anything like it, especially because you don't want to hurt yourself. Let me know how you feel after a few days of doing it when you start feeling more comfortable with the positions and feel the changes this simple exercise can make in your day... anyways, it only take a few minutes!

Have a beautiful day!

  1. Elie, this was the perfect thing for me to read right now! I am so off of my routine and while I did yoga for 14 years religiously - I haven't had a schedule routine since I moved to the beach--I'm going to try sun salutations tomorrow morning - will let you know how it goes, haha.

p.s. thanks for sharing your story on my fashion bullying post. So crazy that these things still go on!

  2. I used to do it every day, but for me it's about the mind-body connection more than routine. At some point I just didn't need it... Perhaps, the time will come again.
On a completely different note - those dogs are just beyond adorable!!!! x
