Politically Incorrect Glasses

The other day I went looking for some new glasses for my house and wanted to get with a little bit of personality and regretted I didn't get any when I was in NY looking around some home stores.

For the political aficionado... which I'm not but thought they were hilarious

I went shopping to Fishs Eddy and like always found the most original glassware of all stores... unfortunately for a lack of space on my suitcase didn't get anything and I'm seriously regretting it. I cannot thing of a better way to have your morning coffee while reading the newspaper (or my Friday links!) in the company of my the day's silly politico (not loving the political commercials these days!)

Do you think these would be totally inappropriate for my next ladies who lunch tea party?

I love it when you can add a little bit of humor and color to your table, especially when you have a dinner party and instead of having everything set with just a plain white china you can add a little pizzas to the setting.  If you happen to visit their website or their store look into their sale because many times they have true vintage items for sale that are really worth it...

Seriously this was arranged like that... I'm not kidding!

Thanks to all your responses yesterday... if you have some time please let me know the following: What's your definition of simple food? Few ingredients, familiarity or out of the box?

Have a great time and add some humor to your day!

  1. Hi Mark.
I have to say; sometimes we are aloud to be a bit politically incorrect...
    These were great!

Nice of you to stop by, and have a great day - SP

  3. I LOVE Fishs Eddys!! Before I scrolled down to read the text, my first thought was "Looks like something you could get at Fishs Eddy"! (I almost did a post about them today too :)) They're stuff is classic and fun, great images!

For simple food, to me that means few ingredients.:)

  4. Simple food to me means, pure or raw food. Food that has not been highly processed or refined. Maybe that is what people mean by natural food though...

  5. It is a fun store, isn't it? To me simple food means something "clean" tasting - it may or may not be few ingredients, but something where you can appreciate the flavor of what you're enjoying and not get bogged down in sauces and such. Hard to explain, and easier to cook for you. Want to come back to NY?

  7. These glasses are so funny. I adore when people do things with a sense of humor.

As for your question, simple food for me is fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies, prepared in an easy, no-nonsense sort of way. Not too many ingredients and whatever ingredients you use are easily identifiable.

  18. Nice cups! Great way to add style to your place :)

I consider simple food as east to make, firstly. Then minimal ingredients. I guess the two can go hand in hand though, right?

  22. I've never gotten out of Fishs Eddy without buying something! They've got such unique stuff and fun displays.

Simple food is cooking with very few garnishes, with seasonal ingredients, and with only a pot or two required!

  23. Looks liek the perfect mug for morning coffee too!! I'm big on large, cozy mugs for the morning :)

  24. I feel simple food means few ingredients, usually seasonal. My husband says most food that comes in a box is more a "product" than a food. I tend to agree. Good thing Nutella comes in a jar!
